Growing on me

Between the brutal shock of learning to live with a baby 24/7/365 and an utterly horrible nursing experience my first time around, I really thought I didn't like babies. But now that I no longer feel entitled to sleeping in, having time to myself, or remaining fully clothed whenever the fancy strikes, I've honestly started to enjoy having one around the house.

The current specimen is over-the-top personable and his corpulence alone wins him praise and respect wherever he goes. But his predecessor, a much more cautious lass, was also a great friend to have around. She didn't think much of anyone else, but she liked me. They always like me. It's really nice of them.

Now if I could just figure out how to get along with 2- and 3-year-olds, I'd really have it made.

2 and 3 year old are for their fathers. Dads really dig two and three year olds. I take my kids back around the time kindergarten is due to start!

Funny, I've thought lately too that babies are rather nice household additions. It does help when the specimen in question is a pleasant one, of course. If nothing else, they're a a great excuse for why the house is such a mess. If I could just get my BabyGuy to sleep more than 2-3 hours at a time at night (!!), I'd almost be ready to sign for another one. (Um. Almost being a very relative term... Good thing it's unlikely to happen for a good while yet.)

And I've been meaning to ask whether your BabyDude still has those incredible legs...sounds like he does :)

Dakotapam is right on: 2 and 3 year olds are absolutely for their fathers. And when Dad's not home: perpetual timeout.

Is there a reason why strait-jackets don't come in a 3T? We had to install top locks on all our doors because #2 (VERY appropriate name for now) will undo the dead bolt and just... leave. It's a great feeling knowing how independent she is when the man is gone and I need a real shower.

I really hate to say this, but, you might be eating your words when your BabyGuy is about 17.......

The legs are still quite shapely. It's a shame to trouser them up for the winter. :(
