A nap that's not ON me, so that I'm pretty much stuck on the couch. I mean, listening to Issues, Etc, and reading the BoC are great, but every now & then I'd like to fold the laundry BEFORE we wear it.
Yes. Oh, yes. As necessary as red wheel barrows are, babies' naps are even more crucial (she typed one-handedly, without the heart to add: so much depends upon the baby going to bed, by herself)
When #2 came along, #1, then only 3, no longer napped, so I was SO out of luck. I was pretty weepy the first three months, that much I remember. And we moved then month he was born. AND he came early. (Best move I ever had! Wasn't expected to lift a thing. Packed up boxes in the morning, hubby moved them to the new house at noon, spent afternoon unpacking, repeat every day till done!)
I second the caveat, "by herself." Needless to say, nothing has gotten done around here during naptime in 2 years. Oh, except for me reading the internetz.
