How delightfully odd

to beat that little baby ticker widget by twelve (12!) days, and still manage to produce a baby who at 7 lb 8 oz exceeded the doctor's weight guesstimate by a pound;

to have a newborn who doesn't pee vertically at every diaper change;

to have all this pink in the laundry!

She's here,

and she's beautiful,

and I'm lost in the wonder of it all.

(But don't worry, I'm sure I'll be back later to bore you all with the details. The birth story compulsion, you know.)

You have been richly blessed! Praise God from whom all blessings flow! Your post brings back so many memories, my first daughter was born after 3 sons...... thank you for reminding me. Oh the fun of it all - pink clothes - I know you will enjoy, bask in the moment. Will look forward to "The Birth Story."

Congratulations! A girl (and all the pink) is such fun after boys. Well, really at any time, but then the pink is such a shock to the laundry system and senses!

Congratulations! It's just about one year for our baby girl (after 3 boys), and while I always detested pink and frills before babies, I'm not sick of it yet, and am really digging all the pretty pink frocks I'm finding at yard sales so far this spring! (Note: Please remember girls CAN make tall fountains, too--just not as often as boys!) Good job!

Congratulations! So happy for you. Please hold and sniff and cuddle that little pink bundle a time or two for me. :-)

Many Years! And may the baptismal gown and bonnet have excessive excess lace.

Congratulations again.

I'm so glad you are going to share your birth story. I had hoped, but didn't want to ask :D

>> bore you all with the details

My entirely unselfish request is for only two details, photo and name!

Hi everyone :)

Jody, thanks for the warning. :P

Lucy, I'm kind of surprised by how fun I'm finding the pink!

Glenda, they do just smell so good, don't they? ;)

Melrose, your day with pink may yet come :D Here I was just getting settled as a "boy mom"...you know how that goes.

Pam, wow, double pink after all your blue must have been a double shock to the system...glad you're getting to enjoy it.

Liz, she was reborn at two days old in the flower-and-lace gown my grandmother made for me at my baptism. (And then I wobbled home from church and collapsed, but happily :D).

Anon, whenever I get around to the details, I'll try to keep the public version relatively un-gory, just for you.

My apologies, I didn't mean that, I meant as many details as you want, as long as you include those two items. My clumsy syntax...I'm sorry.

That is to say, IF you wish to post those details, I will shut up now
