Thanks for calling a thing what it is. Life--including labor, delivery, and nursing--is full of pain, and anyone that says otherwise is selling something. And you named it.
I felt the same "betrayal" after my first four years ago. Those hormones really do not help.
This was great. Brutally honest. I've nursed longer and longer with each babe that has come since. I've also released myself from any guilt for making the choices that work for our family.

This article would have come in handy 22 years ago when I tried unsuccessfully to nurse my baby. Add post partum to the mix and I was a basket case.
