"Women with many children are in middle age much more beautiful than those who have few children and who owe this misfortune not to a hard blow of fate . . . ." Oscar Lezius, Lehre und Wehre, qtd. by John H.C. Fritz, Pastoral Theology
My husband maintains this is demonstrably true, but I'm disqualifying him on the basis of a conflict of interests.

I must be spending to much time on Facebook. I went looking for the "Like" button. So I will just have to say, I love it.
what Megan said.

I also think they are actually much healthier too in many respects. The women in our church who have had nine, ten, or eleven children are still energetic and full of life well into their fifties, sixties, and seventies! (although maybe it's all those grandchildren that keep them hoppin')
here's to hoping baby making will keep these lines from deepening and my back from breaking anymore than it already does. *cheers*
Leah, Fritz goes on to make that argument also (which science has since verified with regard to breast and ovarian cancer, among other things).
I agree 100%! In addition, I would also like to note that there are many superior facets of true feminine and maternal beauty that cannot be captured in still photography, let alone ever make it onto the glossy cover of a glamor magazine.
1 Timothy 2:9-10
Likewise also that women should adorn themselves in respectable apparel, with modesty and self-control, not with braided hair and gold or pearls or costly attire, but with what is proper for women who profess godliness—with good works.
I should also mention that it was not I who first inspired my husband to declare his agreement with Fritz, but the perennially radiant Mrs. Duggar.
Ha! If she's reading Fritz, perhaps she's getting closer to becoming Lutheran!!!
Alas, she is not reading Fritz that I know of. We caught some of the Duggar show on TV while we were on vacation and Dad just thought she looked so darn great it called old Fritz to his mind. :D (She's also the only celebrity on whose appearance he's ever made positive comment in my presence. He's really clever.)
Oh, I get it!
