The joys of motherhood are primarily eschatological.

Here! Here! As my mom (91 years; 6 children (2 of these with Jesus)) would say... "you are populating Heaven!"

Meaning that sometimes the joy comes in looking forward to what is coming later? It is often hard to see the daily trials of motherhood as joyful while we are in the midst of them, at least they are for me.

I first read that as "scatological." That would also be correct.
