Ego boost

The upside to having a kitchen full of fruit flies: The tiny creatures put on a show of being intimidated when I irritatedly storm into their midst. My children do me no such favors; they think I'm hilarious when I'm angry.

Ha, ha! Mom's gonna blow her top again!

Ha! At the ripe old age of just-barely-three, my oldest is quite find of saying "Mom. Hold your patience. I busy. I'll do *insert whatever I just asked her forty-eleven times to do* in a minute."

The beagle isn't even intimidated by me anymore. Maybe I should look into getting me some fruit flies.

I can't wait until my children laugh when I'm upset. :D They're still young enough that they ALL start sobbing, and then I have a mess of tears and comforting to deal with when I'M the one mad, darn it!

Meanwhile, Wrath of Dad is ever potent. How unjust.

I gave up on all the jar methods of getting rid of fruit flies and now use a plate or shallow dish filled with apple cider vinegar. Works like a charm. My kids were more concerned than anything when I would start yelling and waving every time I went into the kitchen.

HA! I love those darn things annoying though they be. I feel some kinship - me being a peon, them being pequiño.
