Sabre of Boldness

This year's Sabre of Boldness nominees are humbling and impressive as always. CSPP gives a shout out to our friend Monique.

That brought tears! We need our own award for Monique--maybe the Shield of Maternal something-or-other?

I can think of numerous women who are more devout, hard working, pious and faithful mothers than I am.

Yes, the last couple of years have been rough. Although, in all honesty, sometimes I think it’s mostly the Lord’s chastening and correction for my own disobedience and unbelief.

To accept a nomination for such a prestigious award, is as if a daughter would pretentiously demand to be rewarded for enduring through her Father’s just and righteous wrath, caused by her own disobedience.

Monique--there is no faithful act of which other can be said than "I have only done my duty." Your example for the rest of us, though, is profound. Many times I have considered your perseverance and known that I in my comparative ease can and must. God help us all.

Joy, in these dolorous postpartum days, I'm inclined to give it to anyone who voluntarily has more than one. :P

Monique, I like you. Let's hook up for coffee in eternity sometime. :)

Monique, the nomination was wonderfully written and truthful. While I do question the appropriateness of such awards I was happy to see such a candidate as yourself amongst them.

Now the question is, can I get anything for these "before she was a star" photos I have. ;)

Rebekah :D

Gauntets- I'd love to have coffee with you. But we don't have to wait until eternity, do we?!! As a friend once told me, it's only a matter of time before the LCMS gravitational force causes us to meet in person, right?

Tena- Why don't you save those photos for when we come up and visit. Then we can both laugh at them together. In fact, I miss ya so darn much, we'd even come during the winter. I hear you have your guestroom ready :D

Be careful, deary. You know not that of which you speak. I bought some bottled water this evening. Put it in the back of the truck. Drove the 27 miles home ... and there's already slush in it. Brrrrr.....
