Even if I were sentimental or enjoyed decorating or wanted another piece of unnecessary matter occupying space in my house

I'm not going to post a picture because they're just too . . . um . . . .

l guess all I'm going to say is belly cast and ?!?

(I apologize to the countless people who love their skillfully wrought, maternity affirming, personally meaningful belly casts, not to mention their children's shadowboxed birth cauls, and are now deeply hurt.)

lol, i once saw a belly cast while pregnant with my first and I nearly cried when I saw how large I would become...I'm more than delighted to pack away the maternity clothes in boxes with tons of tape (regardless of the fact that I will inevitable need it again quicker than expected) and I am sure a belly cast would have the same fate...or worse ;)

shadow boxed birth cauls?! what on earth is that??? (I have an idea but please tell me it's not true!)

I did a google image search on "birth caul" - oy. :)

I made that part up as a proxy for other preservation of parturitional by-products of which I've heard tell . . . ;)

My favorite is the watermelon cast. Because stuffing a watermelon up your shirt to remember what it's like to be preggers just isn't enough.

hahahahah - oh geez Jones!
Well, I did check out the link and while initially drawn to the Skittles one (reminded me of the birthday pinata my mom would always get me) I decided that the most taste-less one would be the angel cast - kind of reminded me of the possible outcome of that first pregnancy hemorrhage. Great..... ;) I so - don't - want wings associated with my birth.

Something especially sentimental about the one that reads "Jezebelly." Nice.

EGADS! An African friend once told me of the US, "This country produces a lot of silly stuff." That fact is truer and truer all the time.
