Lest I forget

Not long ago, I received two emails within a few days of each other from a couple of women whose lives are completely different from mine. They contained the following:

Email 1: Those sweet, remarkable babies! How do you get through a day? I would be playing with them every waking minute and gazing at them in wonder as they sleep.

Email 2: Your day must be so much fun, and so satisfying.

Humbly submitted from a green, green grassland.

For real? No, c'mon. Must be one of those email hoaxes. :)

Seriously, I occasionally get one along those lines too, particularly from a friend who is childless (not by choice, but by fact of not being married, again not by preference): "Wow, it must be the neatest thing in the world to watch as your children develop. It's so amazing, the way they grow and learn about the world."
'Tis humbling indeed.

Humbles me after my comment to my daughter approximately 20 minutes ago, "You throw another tantrum and mommy might throw you." Yikes!
